After spending the night at one of the most renowned camps in Botswana, Delta Camp, guests are transported on a Mokoro (dugout canoe poled by a guide standing, like a gondola) to Chiefs Island. A campsite of dome tents is set up in a prime location that serves as a base camp for the days of hiking. Delta Camp is one of the few places left where guides still use authentic wooden mekoros carved by the guides themselves. Another highly unusual aspect of walking safaris is that the guides do not carry rifles. Instead, their survival depends on their wits and in-depth bush knowledge. The guides will share their knowledge by day while the cook and waiter will cater to your needs for three very comfortable nights in a quaint mobile tented camp.
