Hwange National Park is the largest natural reserve in Zimbabwe and lies in the country's northwest,  near the famous Victoria Falls. Self and guided game drives, horseback safaris and walking safaris are offered here. Hide visits give you a chance to immerse yourself deeper into the wilderness. All Zimbabwe's specially protected animals are found here, and it is the only protected area where gemsbok and brown hyena occur in small numbers. The vast, basalt cliffs over which the falls thunder turn the Zambezi from a placid river into rapids that carve their way through dramatic gorges. The falls have been declared a National Park and World Heritage Site and are also one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
