A short distance inland from the Cape West Coast is the scenic town of Hopefield. Fields of wildflowers, historical buildings and tree-lined streets winding their way through the streets. More than that, Hopefield hosts an annual fynbos exhibition, which celebrates and conserves the breath-taking flora of the region – an attractive and varied family of colourful scrubby plants. It allows viewers to see some of the hundreds of species of fynbos through flower displays biodiversity zones. It is a show put on by the community, so volunteers play a significant role in showcasing the beautiful flora in this area.
