Rhinos and buffalos are excluded from Mashatu, however, elephant and leopard sightings are exceptional and quality sightings are guaranteed. The photographic hides provide a unique experience for photographers and animal lovers alike. There are four main hides at Mashatu. An elephant-proof hide near a waterhole allows photographers to find a good vantage point to capture the wildlife. Mashatu also offers semi-permanent hides that are easily moved between the various drying waterholes in the riverbeds. An infinity bird hide allows visitors to photograph them at eye level, and another hide is located at the white-fronted bee-eater colony.
